How does American Credit, Inc protect my personal information?

How does American Credit, Inc collect my personal information?

We collect business owner's personal information in the business loan underwriting process, for example, when you:

  • Apply for a loan
  • Give us your income information
  • Provide us employment information
  • Give us your contact information
  • Pay us by check

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

  • Sharing for affiliates' every day business purposes - information about your credit worthiness
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • American Credit, Inc currently has no affiliates.
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • American Credit, Inc does not share information with nonaffiliates.
Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • American Credit, Inc currently does not jointly market. However, we reserve the right to jointly market in the future.
Other important information

California Residents: California residents have the right to restrict the sharing of personal and financial information with our affiliates (companies we own or control) and outside companies that we do business with to provide financial products and services.
